Search for "kali linux persistent USB thumbdrive" on the web. After finding it, follow the same process with your USB disk. If persistence isn't important, the setup becomes simpler.

Follow these guidelines carefully. Use your HDD for storage instead of a USB drive. Avoid installing Kali Linux as it isn't intended for that purpose.
