my laptop model is an HP Pavilion 15 with the specified specs. it runs Windows 10 but experiences high ping when playing COD4. system.exe uses minimal data, but task manager shows constant activity. i've reinstalled Windows multiple times and reset it several times recently. i'm really frustrated and just want to play COD4 without any issues. can you help me fix this?

Ping depends on your internet link. With a speed of 1MB/s, it seems like your connection might be the bottleneck, especially if other devices are also using bandwidth for games like COD4.

Are there others using the internet? Have you attempted to link your modem via a network cable, or are you relying on Wi-Fi?

I only run on PC, just for troubleshooting. Whenever I notice a ping issue, the system.exe appears and it's using around 0.1 Mbps, similar to what you saw in the picture. The DNS service also operates at that speed. Things seem more stable lately.

It could be that Windows 10 includes built-in restrictions and data tracking, which might affect your experience. An alternative approach would be switching to an Ethernet connection. Are you currently using Wi-Fi or Ethernet?

Use a wired Ethernet connection by connecting it to your device and a hub, router, or modem.
