16 clocks run faster than 18, so I need to find a good balance between power and speed. A 3200MHz/16 setup is actually slower than 3600MHz/16 by about half a cycle. Even if you drop the speed down to 14, that doesn't fix the big difference caused by having more cores running at full strength. It's not a huge deal for gaming, but it does matter when playing competitive games like Rocket League or Apex Legends. The Neo series is built specifically for Ryzen CPUs, and almost all of their Trident parts come with an "X" on the serial number, meaning they're designed to work best with those processors rather than Intel ones.
I hope it's okay to ask one more question. You're just a great source of info lol. Those Neos look really nice, especially since I am trying to get into RGB lighting. Memory Express has five choices for Trident Neo memory: two 8GB at CL16, two 16GB at CL16, two 32GB at CL16, two 32GB at CL18, and four 32GB at CL16 all in Dual Channel Kit packages. So if I want to fill every slot, I need a 4x kit right? Can't I just buy two separate 2x kits instead? Also, I'm guessing mixing a 2x16 and a 2x32 together would be bad for me.
