It seems you're looking for a turn-based JRPG on PC, similar to Final Fantasy titles, but with the flexibility of PCSX2. You mentioned PS2 RPGs are also acceptable.

I haven't played it myself, but many people suggest it and find it enjoyable.

The final piece isn't the best in JRPG, but I enjoyed it. It runs on PC without needing emulators. Worth trying.

It's the last piece left, I just heard the name once before. The Valkyrie Chronicle seems fine enough right now, probably. I'll look into it whenever Suikoden for PS2 comes around. The link isn't working.

There are options available, though Suikoden 4 falls short and Suikoden 5 outperforms the earlier entries on PsOne.

I really enjoyed Last Remnant. It had a confusing start (the battle system), but once you get the hang of it it becomes incredibly fun and tough. The story is decent but not outstanding. What stands out most are the combat mechanics, which make the game exceptional. The music is also amazing.

Excellent gameplay and narrative, but it's a 2D experience.

Breath of Fire 4 reached PC players, even if it isn't available on Steam. You'll need to hunt down a physical version. It's definitely worth the search!
