To be honest, I rarely rely on metro apps except for weather updates and the occasional photo viewer. It seems the optimization of metro apps was really poor when compared to the rest of the operating system overall (GUI, boot time, etc).

Windows XP looks quite outdated when compared to Windows 8.1. Only those using older processors like Athlon 64 and Pentium 4 consider it superior. It works best on very old hardware.
