Jedi Fallen Order
Jedi Fallen Order
I'm looking to obtain Jedi Fallen Order but I'm unsure whether to purchase it for PC or Xbox One. We play on PC while my girlfriend plays on Xbox, and we don't want to buy two copies of the game. There aren't any reviews comparing console and PC versions available. Anyone have some advice?
From what I've observed, it performs smoothly on PC with no major problems. It would make sense to install it on a PC that has sufficient power for better graphics. If needed, connecting an Xbox controller could be an alternative to using a mouse or keyboard.
I can run it locked at 60 FPS @ 1600x900 with my Ryzen Rig 2 in sig with Epic settings on, full AA etc. It feels similar to a Prince of Persia/Assassin Creed experience without killing people yet—focusing on using the surroundings and solving problems through parkour. Personally, I think it’s fine, but I wouldn’t buy it; having Origin Access would make it easier to try for free. For me, playing without a controller is much better—I prefer Xbox 1S controller over mouse and keyboard, and I really enjoy that kind of gameplay.
The performance on Xbox is pretty much the same as most other similar graphic console games:
Xbox One X in FPS Mode: 1080p at 35-52 fps depending on the area you're in, and can hit 53-60 fps in lower demanding areas.
Xbox One X in Resolution Mode: 1440p-2160p(4K) at a locked 30 fps that dips to 29 fps around 1-5% of the time.
Xbox One S: 720-1080p at a locked 30 fps that dips to as low as 22-27 fps in high demanding areas.
The performance on PC is dependent of your hardware. If you care about achievements or your PC hardware is low-end, buy the game on Xbox. But if your PC is mid to high-end, no reason to not buy the game on PC. There's so much more you can do with and to the game on PC. You're only limiting the games fullest potential on any console.
It's pretty much going to boil down to whether you're a console gamer or a PC gamer.
Is your PC configured for couch gaming? If not, opting for the Xbox version might be a better choice since it allows both of you to play together.
