so I'm trying to install java so i can install a specific mod for Minecraft and I'm getting an odd error I've never seen before. Tried fixing it with the help of google but that got me nowhere.
Not only that but if i try to install it again it tells me that an installation is already in progress. Here's a link to a screenshot of the error:

Any help in fixing this or even why the error is showing in the first place would be greatly appreciated.

the picture seems normal to me. it worked on win 11 with the online installer. i'm not sure how much you searched, but it looks like java requires internet explorer or firefox for installation. internet explorer is no longer available on win11. firefox is still fine.

The photo is way too blurry what is the actual message just type it out. You can look at the installer log file as well that’s under the temporary directory and post its content here. Just log off and log back on for the first instance to finish or try to finish but then we need to see what the log file says to see what the error is.

uncertain about whether I should install one to make it work, but I'll give it a try.

it's not blurry when you view the image in a new tab from imgur, not from this location

I might try a different JDK. I don’t have Internet Explorer installed on any of my virtual machines, and I’ve never faced issues installing Java. Just run openjava jdk 11.
And instead of debating with me, if you share the log file contents, I’ll be sure to know what happened. Otherwise, I think you can figure it out yourself.

There is an offline Java installer available for download at the provided link.
You can follow the instructions without needing a browser unless you're installing via a web interface.
The person sharing the information might not have shared a clear link, so it’s hard to verify.
Try the open JDK site and see if that works instead of the other one.
OpenJDK is accessible at openjdk.java.net

You don't require any browsers that come with an offline installer.

tried it once more using a download via Firefox which resolved the confusion it had caused earlier, though it still doesn't quite work as before. thank you.
