I've looked into all the options on the Oracle site, but still can't get Java to run in IE. I've checked everything—from add-ons to custom settings—and even updated Java to the newest release. Since most programs rely on IE to display web content, I'm unable to use them either. How can I fix this?

Place IE in a pit and switch to Chrome or Firefox? You might have found success with 32-bit Java for most programs.

The site didn’t offer much choice, which suggests a 32-bit architecture. Not all systems support 64-bit, so that’s likely why. Confirmed it—I32 isn’t ideal.
