Java 1.8 and Minecraft compatibility

Many claim a significant improvement in Minecraft performance after installing Java 1.8, yet when using the downloaded version, it displays as a 32-bit Java environment. The reason for the noticeable boost remains unclear.

Consider the 64-Bit release? That should work much better since it's designed for a 64-Bit operating system.

I reached out to @Enderman for the download link for Java 1.8, and he provided it. I downloaded the 32-bit version and am checking if a 64-bit option is available.
