I recently installed two hard drives on my PC for data backup. I powered it off completely to install them, then turned it back on. Now there’s no display and the HDD indicator isn’t flashing, even though the system is still active. I’ve tried various troubleshooting steps I can think of, but the issue persists. My motherboard model is B55-HDV and the primary drive is a Samsung M.2 1TB SSD.

What operating system are you running? How many RAM modules do you have installed? Is your BIOS current? If you detach the SATA cable from the hard drive, will the system start functioning properly?

The motherboard is likely a B550-HDV. The M.2 drive model isn't specified yet.

It’s a Samsung SSD 980 NVMe M.2, my primary storage device. I added another HDD and another SSD but removed them. If you care about the model names, let me know.

I faced the same issue with my old ASROCK B450M-HDV as well, specifically related to the SATA connection on the motherboard.

I understand, you're willing to give it a shot.

The SATA port on the motherboard seemed to be defective.

Yes and no, it functioned using an SSD but also worked with an HDD.
