I activated BitLocker to secure my system drive, stored the encryption key on a USB drive, then encrypted that USB and transferred its key into the drive. After updating the BIOS, the TPM was cleared, so BitLocker now requests a private key for decryption. Need help resolving this?

Check if your BitLocker credentials exist elsewhere or are linked to a Microsoft account. If they're not, unfortunately no further action is possible.

You can verify by signing in to your Microsoft account and navigating to the recovery key page at https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey. If you don’t require BitLocker, consider turning it off, as most home users don’t need it.

You haven't stored the BitLocker keys on any Microsoft account. You're keeping them on the USB drive only.

Press F to honor the process. At this point, the only option is a fresh setup using any available backups. Consider upgrading to a new SSD if you're concerned about losing your BitLockers.

Your system's encryption key is stored on the USB drive. This USB acts as your personal key and is unrelated to the TPM.
