I've recently started working at SC last night.
You've just started using the Aurora-LN package and are preparing to begin tonight's session. It seems you'll need to familiarize yourself with all the controls, which appear quite extensive. You're considering getting a flight stick, similar to what you used with your old Microsoft Sidewinder, though you're moving away from that setup now. You might explore community options later, but right now you're focusing on learning the basics before joining any groups. You typically play solo at first and haven't been involved in guilds before, but it looks like this could change. Thanks for sharing your plans!
To begin, if you're serious about diving into this game, you'll need a stick—definitely consider a HOTAS system. You'll also require an Arena Commander pass along with the gear you purchase to play beyond just observing your ships. More info here: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledg...-Commander $5 USD. Good luck!
In the latest update of AC, certain missiles lack effective countermeasures (since none exist), which means don’t lose hope if you’re hit—we’re all facing the same fate. Avoid using CS missiles unless necessary, though I think the LN ships come with Dominators by default, so that’s covered. See you in the Verse!
Well, first and foremost: welcome to the 'Verse Second, please remember that this is an unfinished game. Expect things to bug/glitch/go wrong. I am not aware of any major gamebreaking bugs at the moment, but there are some problems with missiles, as mentioned above. Other than that, have fun with the game and how everything works.
I can't exit Arena Commander. I think I'm not smart enough. The instructions say press button 3 with the mouse, but it doesn't work. This game doesn't respond to that button on my mouse.
I understand you're looking to reframe this discussion. It's clear you want a different perspective on control schemes and gameplay options. There are many players who adapt their setup based on personal preference, whether they use a stick, mouse, or controller. Some enjoy racing wheels with M50 pedals, while others prefer k/m or a controller. My own setup combines a stick for left-hand strafe and a mouse for aiming. It's also important to note that many players focus on specific roles like space truckers or miners rather than the entire arena. You don't need any special gear—just choose what fits your style.
Navigate between asteroids in that vessel, stay alert for empty zones, prepare to enhance your armor and firepower. Victories will feel tough but each one is a win aboard the ship. Asteroids are allies, CS missiles move slowly so you can aim them effectively—they tend to hit the targets. Skipping CS missiles? Only if you’re certain no threats are nearby; otherwise, stick with them unless you have a lock on something else. Keep in mind the broader context of the game—currently focused on a cold war and mutual assured destruction. Also:
