You're wondering if an integrated memory controller is built into your CPU. It might be worth checking other options first, but if that doesn't work, it could be a possibility.

In short, your CPU feels like a burden because it’s barely keeping up.

I'll review the other ideas in this discussion a bit more. It might help to step away for a while and return with a clearer perspective. Sometimes frustration causes us to overlook details. I can share that I've tackled "computer won't boot, don't know why" issues by disassembling and reassembling everything.

The Asus guardian light on the motherboard is displaying a yellow color, indicating an issue with the RAM. Probably best to hold off until I can purchase a replacement kit and check if it resolves the problem.

After disconnecting, did you press the power button again to discharge everything? There seems to be a significant residual charge remaining for a long time. Temporarily short the two pins for 20-30 seconds just in case. If that doesn’t resolve it, try removing the battery and leaving it unplugged for some time. Should that fail, attempt booting with only one stick. My Z87 board sometimes struggles to start. Clearing the CMOS didn’t help. Removing a memory module, restarting once, then reinserting the other works. After that it keeps launching—until it stops randomly. The CPU functions perfectly on this setup. Memory tests with memtest86 showed no problems on the other board. Apart from the chipset, the difference is the pin configuration: 4-pin versus 8-pin. That shouldn’t cause trouble. I’ve also verified the connections. It could be that a slightly damaged board is the issue. Generally, overdoing it (especially clockwise) isn’t harmful. Applying excessive voltage might damage the components or destroy them instantly.
