I’m considering building a game with some concepts in mind, but creating a batch file feels overwhelming without assistance. The setting is a militaristic environment where you’re a wounded character trudging through the woods, your main goal is to reach a distant marker while avoiding patrols and hearing strange noises. You encounter a mysterious figure who helps you, revealing she’s a fox-like girl with a name and some fox ears. The story unfolds in a vast cherry blossom forest filled with military installations. Your mission becomes escaping the area with her as you discover the military is after her—possibly hinting at deeper themes of prejudice or injustice. The game will be a third-person over-the-shoulder shooter, open world but linear. This idea came to me recently after a long night of brainstorming; I’ve been wanting to develop it for some time. The team involved includes @StarFire (storyboard), @NerdNinja (concept art), and a modeler.
I find it intriguing, actually. I like to think about it from my perspective.
This could very well be a novel...I've developed several games (three MMOs and two FPS titles). I wouldn't expect you to want something like this. Creating a 2.5D MMO with an endless scrolling map took me three years, and it would have been insane without a team...
