Last holiday season, I assembled a computer system, and it operated without issue until approximately one week ago. Recently, I’ve begun experiencing intermittent performance drops during gameplay. These lags typically occur every three minutes and can persist for between one and ten seconds, occasionally leading to complete system failures. My computer’s specifications are: Central Processing Unit – i3-8100, Graphics Card – ZOTAC 1050 TI OC (I have not attempted to manually increase its speed), and Memory – Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB.

The best approach to diagnose the issue would involve tracking your processor and graphics card temperatures, potentially with MSI Afterburner’s built-in display. It's possible that these readings are increasing significantly, leading to the system reducing performance due to overheating.

System updates, including driver installations like your video driver, can sometimes cause issues. You may wish to revert video drivers to an earlier version—perhaps one or two versions prior—if you're experiencing performance problems such as frame drops.

During gameplay, I’ve monitored my temperatures. This is most frequently observed in Apex Legends, where my central processing unit typically reaches approximately 66 degrees Celsius—a level that’s considered acceptable by many, and my graphics card temperature is generally around 63 degrees Celsius, also within a reasonable range.

It's likely you should revert your video card drivers to an earlier version to resolve the issue of performance delays.

Perhaps you should attempt to reinstall your graphics card drivers—it's often beneficial. If feasible, consider removing them entirely using DDU:

I’ll attempt to revert to an older graphics driver version, and if that doesn't resolve the issue, I can uninstall and reinstall them, perhaps.

What’s causing the notification about a scheduled restart? I don't understand what that indicates.

Following the removal and reinstallation of drivers and GeForce Experience, I no longer experience the lagging spikes; therefore, my problem appears to be resolved at this time.
