Specs: CPU 5600X, GPU 1080 Ti, M.2 MSI MPG, B550 gaming, SSD Samsung 970 2 TB, 16 GB RAM, Corsair Vengeance LX Psi NXT CPU, issue: PC malfunctions when multitasking or background apps run. Restarts to black screen instead of blue. Attempted fixes include checking temperatures, adjusting GPU settings, reinstalling Windows, cleaning drivers with DDU, testing single monitor at different resolutions, and changing RAM sticks. Still experiencing crashes under load. Possible causes: motherboard, CPU, or power supply issues. Need further guidance.

Verify the BIOS version, reset CMOS, maintain XMP settings off, attempt tests again.

You're asking about resetting your CMOS and updating your BIOS. Since your motherboard has a USB port labeled as the BIOS flash button, you can use that to flash the latest BIOS version. After updating, simply turn off your PC and follow the on-screen instructions to clear the CMOS.

Other users have noticed a recurring issue where Ryzens crashes alongside Corsair RAM. The exact combinations aren't clear, but a trend is emerging. Many discussions have been shared about this lately. Updated July 20, 2022 by An0maly_76, additional details provided.

It’s possible, I switched another RAM module but what I have right now is Corsair. After updating the BIOS and clearing CMOS, it’s still running the same issues I was facing before without crashing. I’ll check again tomorrow if it stays stable; otherwise, I’ll return here. Thanks for the advice—I didn’t even consider checking the BIOS since it booted and seemed fine at first.

Ballistix is recognized for its reliability when partnered with Ryzens, who have a playful attitude toward RAM.

Several of these have been specifically confirmed as RAM-related issues. I notice most discussions stop short of thorough validation, often stopping at general concerns like Ryzen + Corsair combinations. While I haven’t seen detailed proof for many, a few users report stable performance with Corsair RAM, which contradicts the common narrative. It seems the data is limited to anecdotal reports rather than comprehensive testing.

I'm not suggesting Corsair RAM and Ryzen processor are doomed. Instead, it might be part of a bigger picture. A bit of timing issues here and there, perhaps the RAM speeds aren't quite right, etc. I believe only specific Ryzen models might be impacted, maybe just certain Corsair kits. It could also relate to board capabilities or limitations. Probably a mix of these factors. Of course, this comes from someone caught between manufacturer claims and what the board actually supports. I’ve experienced only positive results with Corsair RAM in my last three projects. All of them were Corsair, and two used Ryzen processors. I also believe the problem wasn’t related to the RAM itself.
