You've received a B450 MATX MSI board, but you were expecting a Ryzen 4000. I'm concerned it might not support it. You have until May 31st to return it. Since you're using a Fractal Micro ATX case, sticking with that or an ITX model makes sense. If you need the Ryzen 4000 later, you'll likely want an X570 or B550 next month. Your options are: get another MATX board or stick with ITX/ATX. The ASRock X570 is the only MATX option, but it has poor VRM performance. You were considering a Ryzen 3900X, but you're planning to wait for a Ryzen 3600 around $160 until the 4000 series launches.

For a Ryzen 4000 you might consider the X570 Strix as a strong choice. B550 boards also seem promising. B450/X470 models could receive updates depending on the supplier, though. This year AMD isn't forcing support; it's up to companies like Asus, ASRock, Gigabyte and MSI to choose whether to include it.

It looks like the B550 will be released next month. I believe it’s best to stick with this board until the 30th, then return it and wait for the new model. Since Amazon also doesn’t have the Asus in stock, it should be available by May 30.

It seems similar to what the 5x5 mentioned—everything hinges on the manufacturer backing it. Since the B450 Gigabyte MATX is on the lower side, I doubt they’ll support it. Probably not worth the risk.
