Asus rog strix b550 priced at $285.90 Asus rog strix x570 dtx at $418.90 We considered the b550 but noticed the x570 available in-store. Anyone know if your sister should opt for the higher-end X series or if the b550 will suffice? She’s using an R7 3800 and wondering if the dtx fits in the NZXT 210i with it.
The B450 Tomhawk Max should work fine, but for better performance opt for the B550 board. It’s not worth the extra cost.
The Strix X570-I fits Mini-ITX, whereas the Crosshair VIII Impact is Mini-DTX, which could have led to confusion. The X570-I should cover even a PBO 3950X, making it sufficient. You likely don’t need the Impact. I wouldn’t choose the B550-I because it’s only $30 less than the X570-I, offers inferior power delivery, and has poor rear IO performance.
