Itunes is bad?
After seeing Linus' take on the iPhone 5s and his thoughts about iTunes, I wondered why some people view it negatively. I haven't run into any issues and it works fine, so why do others think iTunes isn't great? What alternatives do people use and why? Should I switch my music player? Remember, I own an iPod that I want to connect with.
You're stuck with an iPod and have to deal with iTunes, which isn't very intuitive. I found the multiple album selection confusing and the reset feature after updates frustrating. The file format options are too limited, and I wish it supported WAV and FLAC. As a workaround, I use Foobar2000—it's free and works much better for me.
I was expecting it to work faster since it's using an SSD, but I'm still unsure about syncing my iPod. My main worry is whether it's possible without having too many similar programs running at once.
There is a tool that lets you connect to an iPod, but I didn’t manage to get it set up. Of course, I didn’t put much effort into making it work. For tips, check this link: http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_dop
My device is a third-generation iPod Touch using iOS 5.1.1, and the plugin hasn't functioned properly despite extensive troubleshooting. Foobar works well for most tasks except syncing.
Previously, my games slowed down on my i7 930 due to high RAM and processing usage. That’s why Foobar2000 performs better (and appears more impressive).
