Hello everyone, I'm just starting out on this forum and have been browsing for a while now. I have a 1Gbit connection that works with all my devices except the PS5. My PS5 download and upload speeds are around 140Mbit down and 10Mbit up according to its settings. When downloading games, the same applies. In the web browser inside the PS5, speeds can reach up to 600-700Mbit/s. That means the PS5 can handle much faster connections. Other devices connected via the same LAN port get speeds of over 900Mbit/s. My network setup looks like this from ISP to PS5: 1Gbit Fibre connection → Netgear Orbi RBR760 Router → Netgear GS316EPP Switch (16 ports) → [AV cabinet] → Netgear GS108E 1Gbit switch → PS5. I've used CAT7 solid core in my walls and Cat6e between devices. So far, the following ports are open and assigned to the fixed IP of the PS5: TCP 80, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480 and UDP 3478, 3479. I've used DNS 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4, 9.9.9.9. After resetting the PS5 in safe mode with restore software, the problems persist. Anyone have experience here? If you need more details, let me know. Cheers!

Checking the store for downloads might reveal if the problem continues; if it does, your console could be communicating with a server in another area.

I think the download and upload rates are acceptable, though they aren’t leading to many more problems. However, if you’re experiencing slower speeds compared to what you normally get, it might be due to certain factors. If you haven’t tried yet, I strongly suggest connecting your device directly via an Ethernet cable instead of using a mesh network—this can boost performance. At home, my devices generally provide similar speeds, but some elements affect them: • Bandwidth usage is around average; avoid many streaming or downloading tasks at once, as they drain data quickly • Place your console nearer the router to test if that helps • Consider switching to a higher-band network rather than 2.4GHz, since congestion can reduce speed • Look for updates in your area regarding any maintenance by your ISP • Restart your router periodically I hope this assists, but if these steps don’t resolve the issue, please reach out to your ISP to confirm the problem.

I question if it's a regional matter, yet it's worth a shot

Hi everyone, thanks for your responses. I have an update about the situation. It looks like the problem disappears when I switch the Netgear OBI (RBRS760) to bridge mode or use the ISP router. This suggests the issue might be related to the OBI settings rather than bandwidth limitations. As mentioned before, it seems unrelated to insufficient data speed but more about how the router is configured. The PS5 performs well with speeds when connected through a switch to the ISP router or when the OBI is in bridge mode. I’d appreciate clarification on what’s causing this. For now, I’m using a temporary solution. Edit: it works for both wired and wireless connections.

Did OP solve the problem? They're experiencing the same issue again.
