I've been searching for reliable RAM from Crucial to fit my setup perfectly. After hearing positive feedback from Linus and others about Crucial, I've remained loyal to them for both RAM and SSDs. Recently, I've been concentrating on getting Crucial RGB Ballistix RAM for my current project, particularly since switching from Kingston Fury RGB due to a Mini-ITX change. The challenge is finding genuine units without relying on eBay sellers who charge premium prices. It's a bit frustrating, but I'm still determined to get the best value and performance!
Mainstream memory loss isn't the main reason anymore. The company has decided to stop selling all Crucial Ballistix RAM modules.
It's disappointing! The sales performance didn't quite meet expectations, even with the hype from Linus and others. You'd think they'd be doing better, wouldn't you? Appreciate the update from @Skiiwee29!
It's disappointing they didn't go higher for DDR2 with D9GMH/GKX, but their DDR4 8Gbit and 16Gbit revisions are solid for high clock speeds. Their current DDR5 performance is average at best, especially the 16Gbit revision which struggles to reach even 5500MHz. The newer 24Gbit IC looks promising for better clocking, though a mid-range chip still lags behind Hynix's offerings. Given their consistent DRAM revisions, it seems they'll likely release a stronger chip soon.
