It's time to start fresh.
Hi!
It has been quite some time since I upgraded my computer, and I believe this Black Friday is the perfect moment to make a change.
I've been checking forums and YouTube for the best options within my budget, and I’ve settled on these specs:
CPU: 7800X3D
MOBO: ASRock B650M PRO RS
GPU: RX 7900 XT (still unsure which model to pick)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR-5 32gb (probably around 6000 or 6200, I don’t think it’ll really help)
SSD: Samsung 980 PRO 2TB (I’m considering getting two, even though a friend said name brands aren’t necessary because the difference won’t be big)
PSU: Corsair RM750e 80+ GOLD (or the 850 model)
CASE: NZXT H7 Flow (or any other with good airflow and a sleek design, I don’t want too many RGBs)
COOLER: NOCTUA NH-D15 (I’m also thinking about the Thermalright Peerlees Assassin 120 SE)
Any recommendations for upgrading further?
My budget is roughly 1500 to 2000 euros.
Thanks!
The 980 pro is decent but may be too expensive. I’d skip that friend’s suggestion about sticking to name brands. In the PC world, brands really count. Choosing no-name options often leads to poor quality. Important brands like Samsung, Western Digital, Teamgroup, and SK Hynix are more reliable for good drives. Always check reviews first. If you can visit German stores, try adding your build plan to PCPP and exporting the link for better advice.
Yeah I understand, but after what he told me I did some research and from what I found it seems that buying a fast reading M2 SSD isn't necessary for gaming. I'm mainly using the 980 Pro mostly for my operating system. The other choice is the Crucial P3 Plus.
Your preferences align quite well with what I see.
PSU, I own an 850W semi modular Corsair, functioning smoothly.
Samsung 980 Pro, 2TB SSD, I’ve used one before without issues for 18 months.
DDR5 memory is on my radar soon, aiming for 6000 with solid timings.
I’m open to any brand but prefer a well-known name.
GPU, I have a 7900xt hellhound—performance strong, quiet, and easy to overclock slightly.
It’s been nearly a year without problems. Other options are certainly available.
I’m considering a 7000 series, either discounted or a new 9000 chip.
The 7800x3d is a great tool for testing.
My motherboard choice is MSI Tomahawk, though HUB seemed to favor the Asrock model on your list.
Case selection depends on personal preference.
Coolers are available; both models listed have positive feedback.
When purchasing from Germany, you have a wider selection. Considering PCPP for Germany, I would likely pick this option.

There is an 850W power supply suitable for that GPU. Here are some DDR5-6000 CL30 RAM options to consider without overspending.
Links provided include the first few sets, a CPU cooler, a rear exhaust fan, a case, and additional information.

I chose that MOBO mainly because of the price. It's affordable and performs well, though the only drawback is its white color. I'm aiming for a completely black build. My current PC has 16GB of 1600MHz RAM.
🙁
Honestly, I built this system three years ago. The best part is my GPU – I have an RTX 3070, which is doing great so far. I haven't had any issues with games, but with the upcoming COD release I'm unsure if it can handle high graphics settings on this setup.
Do you have an air cooler or an AIO? I was considering switching to an AIO, but I don't like them. I prefer an air cooler because it's easier to manage once installed.
Thank you!
Last night they found them 160 euro.
But I had a thought last night—do I really need 4TB of storage?
At the end of the day, I mainly play games on the PC and occasionally watch movies. So I believe it would be better to install a 1TB M2 SSD for the OS and the apps I use most, and another 2TB M2 SSD for my games. That way, I’d have 2TB of storage with about 1TB used across OS, games, photos, apps, and more.
Currently, I have one 500GB M2 SSD, one 1TB HDD, and two 250GB SSDs. I bought only the M2 ones; the others came from my old PC.
