I own a Vive about a year ago and had to sell it because I moved abroad. Since then, I haven’t kept up with VR news. Now that I’m more settled, but my space is smaller and roomscale isn’t working well, I’m thinking about buying a used one for around 550 USD. My main questions are: Is it still worth it? How have VR games changed over the past year? Should I wait for a better deal or go for Vive 2 instead?

You can find a Vive for around $400 USD. If you're satisfied with its features compared to what you had before and enjoy playing games on it, consider getting one. Note: The Oculus Rift is also listed at $400.

Roomscale adds significant expense, while the experiences on it feel less impressive than those on the Vive.

You'd prefer a pleasant controller over an enjoyable game.

I’d prefer cash. Probably get into VR around 25 and it’ll feel more grown-up.

Checking my Steam library shows I’ve been playing Battle Dome, Holopoint, Out of Ammo, and Raw Data. They’re all pretty enjoyable, but I’m not sure if anything new has been released recently that’s worth spending money on.
