Been thinking about this a bit yesterday. It’s clear that those who build AMD systems have to sacrifice features like physX, hairworks, hbao+, tessellations, etc. You’d think choosing PC would let you push graphics performance further. It’s interesting to consider how you might have all those options but decide not to use them. Just a thought.
It doesn't affect me since I still have all those capabilities available, even with an AMD GPU. You'd only miss out on ray tracing, which has a big effect on frame rates but offers little visual gain in most games we've seen so far—it's not an issue for me. Plus, these are early models, so they'll become outdated once ray tracing becomes mainstream.
I choose a PC since I already need one for other purposes. Pushing limits isn't my main focus. Everything else depends on cost versus performance. Will these capabilities enhance my gaming experience or are they just essential? Am I ready to spend more for them? In the past few generations, my choice has been consistently "No."
