Hi everyone, my budget laptop runs eSports and pixel games on a Lenovo IdeaPad 330 with an i5 8250U and Radeon 530 GPU. The main problem is the resolution scaling. At 1366x768 it looks blurry, and even at maximum settings the menus and windows take up too much space. I’ve tried increasing resolutions via Intel HD Graphics and AMD Radeon Software, but both don’t work properly—sometimes the screen goes black or shows nothing. I’m looking for other fixes without getting an external display. Any suggestions would be really helpful.

Based on online sources, some IdeaPad 330 models include 1366 x 768 displays. If you own one of those, there shouldn't be any options available. To verify, open "display settings" (right-click on the desktop in Windows 10) and check the resolution choices. If none exceed 1366 x 768, it suggests you already have that display size.

It seems there could be some issues. I'm looking for creative solutions to achieve a sharper display. CRU was my top choice, but I managed to adjust the Windows display settings to show higher resolutions. However, it still results in a black screen when I try that.

Tbh, even if it functions, a workaround like CRU won't really make much difference (especially if you're stuck at 1366 x 768). It could shrink UI elements, but nonlinear scaling might also cause everything to blur. I believe the best approach is using an external monitor. If that helps, you can find 60Hz 1080p models for around $80 in the US—maybe not the best, but sufficient.

Typically MMO games include UI scaling, have you looked at the game settings?
