To begin with, my internet connection relies on satellite, which is already quite slow. (CMON STARLINK!!!) My setup includes a Viasat terminal (routing disabled due to POS requirements and frequent Wi-Fi drops) > Zyxel C3000Z (acting as router and WAP) > 150' Cat5 to Office > Asus RT-N12 configured as an AP. When using a wired LAN through the final AP, my upload speeds drop significantly from around 10Mbps to about 40kbps. The Wi-Fi upload remains stable at roughly 8Mbps. Removing the Asus improves performance, but without Wi-Fi in the office building, I’m left with limited options. If I add another switch before the Asus, can it support both wired and wireless connections effectively? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's probably a limiting setting applied, try checking through the admin settings to ensure that the bandwidth and/or speed is not being capped or limited. Try getting a different ethernet cable since I have seen damaged cables causing slowed and inconsistent speeds, these units aren't really designed to be used as a good switch as well, and since it is a quite low-end router the resources may all be going to wireless and not leaving much for wired connections. I would recommend getting a switch (even a cheap one will work more than great for your network): https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Litewave-...NrPXRydWU=

This makes complete sense. I’ll make the change!
