It's causing my entire system to become unresponsive.
Hey everyone, since March 2021 I'm facing a bothersome issue where my PC randomly freezes and stops responding after receiving errors like "unable to initialize display device" or "critical error occurred – process terminated." Sometimes I can run multiple games without issues, but the next day I’m unable to play anything at all. I reached out to Riot support and we’ve been discussing this. So far I’ve tried: CCleaner, MalwareBytes, Adwcleaner scans – nothing found. Updated Windows, refreshed drivers, disabled Nvidia overlay and Xbox Bar, switched to different Nvidia drivers, defragged the HDD, optimized with Windows tools, ran sfc /scannow and chkdsk – still no results. Set my GPU as the one to use for League of Legends, reinstalled Windows, used HexTech Repair (repair, add to firewall, reinstall), ran the League Repair Tool in the launcher, checked if my second monitor matched the resolution – it did – played in fullscreen/windowed. Here are my specs: ASUS ROG G551JX, replaced HDD and RAM. GPU: Nvidia GTX 950M (plus Intel Iris Pro Graphics 5200). CPU: Intel® Core i7-4750HQ. RAM: 16GB. OS: Windows 10 64-bit. What I need to recreate this: Play normally – it happens when the second window (loading screen with points) freezes randomly, sometimes I can play all day, other times I can’t even start a game. When the launcher opens, it might freeze if I open it and then grab something to drink before returning. What do you think is the cause? My HDD is always at 100% usage during games or when opening more than 10 tabs in Firefox. This only occurs with League of Legends; I can play Minecraft, Fortnite, Dying Light, Valorant, etc., without issues. If anyone has suggestions, please share. P.S. I attached the LoL logs from the last incident on 2021-09-04T14-33-17_8524_RiotClient.log.
