You need a solid CPU (such as Skylake 6600k) and a good GPU (970 and above) to run multiplayer games smoothly with up to 32 players. Achieving around 60 fps is achievable if you play well. The optimal approach is joining communities that create custom missions and focus on performance. Most public servers use Wasteland or Altis life, which often suffer from poor performance. Single-player play usually avoids these issues. I’ll be the first to say the game has many flaws, especially with its profiling and DirectX usage. The main problems lie in specific missions and server congestion. Arma 2 can handle around 80 players, but Arma 3 typically caps at 25-32 for FPS reasons on clients. Many admins ignore this because people prefer joining larger servers.
