So i bought the psu as with peoples advice from my last post. But theres a problem Not with the psu thats just to show how unlucky i am. My pc doesnt work unless i Push my graphics card towards my cpu cooler. I reinstalled it a few times and it was still the only way i was able to open my pc Now its not working at all like even when i do that. Also my cpu cooler seems to be loose on one side which i have a spare cooler for i dont think it impacts the pc launching anyway As i said its not booting up now even when i do that. Did i just screw over my pc? Edited July 14, 2022 by penstate
If your CPU cooler isn't properly fastened, identify the cause and resolve it before using your PC. If it remains unstable, your processor won't receive adequate cooling, risking lasting harm. A loose cooler can seriously impact startup, as uneven pressure may prevent pins from connecting correctly. Without all pins in place, your computer might fail to boot. This issue is critical—address it immediately. The sound of pressing the GPU button seems like a connector issue, but double-check for problems with back panel connectors such as HDMI or DP ports. If the problem lies with your PCI connector, force air through it gently and clean the contacts on the card with isopropyl alcohol using a paper towel.
Consider all possibilities. Do you have the precise setup details? If you can, clear out any unnecessary items from the system—like iGPU, unused RAM sticks, or storage devices—and then enter BIOS. This lets you examine each part separately.
It's tough to picture your setup clearly without any images.
Cable setup is a bit chaotic but manageable. I’m seeing a single GPU slot on the mATX board, the top one, and no others visible—so you could install a GPU there, right? Why not? Now your large air cooler shouldn’t shift at all; if it does, it’s likely improperly secured or screws aren’t tight enough. Everything seems fine overall, what’s the issue?
