If your Minecraft is 1.8 then there is nothing you can do about it, the game is bugged due to some Water effects. I suggest downgrading or hope the next update fixes it. Ooooor you can see if some other Minecraft player has a Temp fix. (Google Search)

I should also mention Optifine. It's a helpful recommendation. The user might also activate multi-core chunk loading when using that mod.

Consider checking the appdata folder and removing minecraft.exe. It’s a good idea to back up your saves first. After that, start Minecraft and it will download and install a new version. I’ve resolved my broken Minecraft issues several times using this method.
