It was worth it to boost performance in 2020.
I bought an HP OMEN with an i9-9900K and an RTX 2080 Super. Should I consider boosting my CPU or GPU? This is due to warranty concerns, reduced longevity, and the loss of past performance gains. Is this still a good idea in 2020? If yes, should I overclock both components? How can I do it—using the OMEN Command Center or directly in the BIOS?
Don't share this information. Keep the voltage steady. If you're experiencing slow performance, consider boosting it. Otherwise, it's mostly just for enjoyment.
Quick update: I did the HP Intelligent Overclock and here are the results; are these good?
Be careful with auto overclocking! That can quickly cause damage. If you're aiming for higher performance, do it yourself carefully. Follow some instructions, start gently, and gradually increase. The issue with auto overclocks is they often push voltage too high, risking component failure. They also don't offer the most stable or extreme settings.
