my i5-10400f reaches 0.79ghz above 60% usage and my gtx 1060 drops from 100% to 30% when it does the same. as you mentioned, my system is an i5-10400f, gtx 1060 SC with 6gb ram, 16gb 2667mhz memory, 500w power supply, and a biostar h510m 2.0 plus 3 hdds and 2 ssds. my windows version is windows 10 pro 22H2 64 bit. it mostly slows down when playing games like grounded and scum. i don’t know the bios model or where to find it. i hope you can assist me. thanks.

It could be due to overheating. Could you share the temperatures recorded during high usage?

Is it under stress or just resting? I’d consider refreshing the system.

When under pressure, it's hard to keep your BIOS updated without risking damage to your device.

Could your motherboard be limiting your CPU performance? What was the CPU's wattage when it was under stress?

The issue may stem from a problem with the software he employs to track clock speed. According to my understanding, Biostar mobos are generally reliable. He might want to switch to a dedicated hardware monitor for more precise clock monitoring.

Performance drops significantly even at maximum settings, indicating power constraints. A more powerful graphics card would improve overall responsiveness.
