I installed a Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2, an AMD Ryzen 5 5500 and a DeepCool LE500 on my PC. After a restart, temperatures stayed between 25-30°C when idle and reached up to 60-65°C during peak usage. On another day, idle temps were around 60-70°C and the system stayed hot, nearly 17°C above boiling point. It seems the higher the temperature, the longer it takes for the CPU to shut down. This pattern has been consistent since September 2022—why does my CPU keep running so long?

Only this way can it be done, and if the temperatures climb too quickly it could exceed 100°C before turning off. Consider reapplying the cooler; there appears to be a heat transfer problem between the CPU and cooler.

First I noticed a fresh paste like two weeks ago, temperatures stayed the same—just a bit over a degree. Second, the pump is running but it keeps turning on at 108 and stopping at 117, which feels too hot if it should shut off around 100. That’s not typical for its normal operation.

Consider checking the CPU first before sending it for support. It might be the hardware issue. You’re planning an upgrade, so you could also test a 5 5500 stock cooler.

It looks like thermal transfer might have an issue. The 5500 CPU isn’t power-hungry, and a 240 or 280W rating doesn’t seem correct for this setup. There seems to be a problem with the heat dissipation, so removing the cooler could help identify the issue.

The pump sounds more intense now compared to its original state. You can sense the water moving through the pipes.

I'm considering using the stock cooler after getting the 9 5900x; I'll check if my CPU is the issue. If nothing helps, I'll send it for repair—expect a 1 to 2 week wait. We've already talked to support, so it's just about scheduling the test. I'd like to try first.

Many vibrations occur within the tubes, yes.
