The motherboard includes a pre-installed standoff that seems too elevated, causing the SSD to bend when the heatshield is placed. It makes me uneasy viewing it. Am I being overly concerned or should I thank the ASUS team instead?

Are you referring to the squire in the image? I removed it and reattached it because I'm returning the board today. It comes off effortlessly.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. The main issue seems to be the pre-applied thermal pad on the heatshield being too thick, which can push the SSD down and cause bending. Ideally, a thinner pad would work better, especially if the SSD has no front-side memory. Would that make sense?

I followed exactly what the video demonstrated. There were no problems with matching the heat sync to a regular SSD. The PCIe 4 SSD with its own heat sync didn’t fit properly, so I took out the squire pad to make space.

I’m still trying to grasp what you mean. Are you talking about a synchronization process, a squire’s equipment, or something else?

Yes, I grasped the video you shared. You performed the same action with your Crosshair Hero as demonstrated in the clip.
