you're experiencing limited GPU performance despite having a powerful setup. the main factors might be the game settings, driver configurations, or thermal throttling. even though you're pushing the card to 133% with afterburner and kombuster, games often cap at 80-90% power for stability. your monitor's 120 fps target is likely being hit due to frame rate limits in titles like battlefield 6 or ninja gaiden 4. the cpu and ram are not under strain, so the bottleneck is probably the GPU itself or its thermal management.

Its additional specifications include clock speed, software frame limiters, DDU capability, display resolution, and more.

My 4080 seldom reaches its 320w threshold in any match, even when running an overclocked 9800X3D at 1440p. The issue might lie elsewhere, and both the game and the engine could be contributing to the problem. There are numerous factors that can push a GPU to 85-90% usage, which is quite typical.

The engine and your processor might be restricting the performance you receive. Claiming your CPU isn’t near its full capacity doesn’t matter much. It’s possible it isn’t utilizing all 16 cores (32 threads), and it’s quite likely a single core or thread within the game is causing the slowdown. Not every title runs with true multithreading. That’s why 8-core models like the 7800x3d and 9800x3d excel in gaming. A few tips: Ensure Windows 11 is up to date, refresh your AMD chipset drivers, install the latest video drivers, and check your temperatures—avoid anything above 95°C during play. You might want to adjust game settings, but based on what you shared, your hardware should be handling it well, especially if you’re using high resolution and graphics settings. Keeping power usage around 80-90% is ideal, and the 4090 should deliver great performance without excessive strain.

Adjust the MSI Afterburner OSD (rivatuner) to display the performance limit reason. Often you reach a voltage cap before reaching full power. This depends heavily on the card's behavior.

Additionally, Ada behaves differently from Ampere and most other components. My previous 3090 could boost up to 400W but remained idle during the entire gaming session. Keep power usage in check. The 4090 tends to fluctuate a lot, sometimes reaching around 300W and other times dropping to about 400W.

Consider core usage metrics, though BF6 tends to consume many threads. It’s unclear if HWMonitor pinpoints your performance ceiling—could be stable voltage.

Two discussion posts mention GPU power limitations. It seems to be worth verifying if there are any recent Windows or Nvidia updates.

I've checked the setup and found the configuration works well. The new Ryzen 7950X with 5.1-5.5 GHz delivers strong performance. The 64GB DDR5 RAM at 6000MHz paired with the SSD and NVMe drive ensures smooth multitasking and gaming. No frame rate limits on the 1TB SSD, and the 4K display looks great. Adjusting CPU cores to 8 and running at 5.6 GHz didn’t noticeably improve FPS in the tested game.

the issue is that my frame rate isn't reaching 120fps, often staying in the 80s and 90s. this can lead to issues with quick reactions in games like bf6. everything has been updated, but temperatures usually stay in the 60s-70s, though the cpu can spike to the 80s occasionally. i set my onscreen display to show each core's load percentage, and none are hitting 100%. it looks fairly balanced for bf6.
