Hey, it seems like your file explorer app might be having issues with the SSDs you're using. Whenever you attempt to open them, it takes a moment before the "SSD is not responding" message appears. Even though other programs like Ableton and Premiere Pro work fine with these drives, File Explorer doesn't function properly. You tried ending the task and restarting it, but the problem continues.

Remove all external USB drives or tools you're not using, then run a virus scan. Make sure the chipset and disk controller drivers are up to date. If issues remain, open Command Prompt with admin privileges and execute sfc /scannow. Press Shift while clicking Restart to enter troubleshooting mode, then follow the prompts. Reboot into troubleshooting mode, click Troubleshoot, type CMD or Advanced, and run the same command again—working without Windows loaded helps. After completion, restart your system and verify the fix. This method has helped after recent updates; uninstalling the latest feature update in Advanced settings can also resolve problems.
