I experience these crashes occasionally in Halo 3 MCC multiplayer, appearing as fatal errors. I've tried various solutions including uninstalling display drivers, reinstalling graphics drivers from NVIDIA with a clean setup, and using the "sfc /scannow" command to fix system files. Despite these efforts, the crash persists. Steam confirms my file integrity is intact, yet the issue remains. This error only occurs in specific games like Halo MCC - Elden Ring, Halo Infinite, Civ 6, Elder Scrolls Online and others I play without problems. Is this a resolvable problem? I've attached the error log from the Event Viewer, showing the faulting application and module details consistently each time.

Begin by checking the video card drivers since that's what the text indicates. As the names suggest, both nv_dispig.inf and nvwgf2umx.dll relate to NVIDIA. You might want to try the advice from xAcid9 or go back to an earlier driver version.

I’ve taken out geforce/shadowplay and confirmed it’s likely a graphics driver problem. The file is present in the directory related to graphics drivers. Others have reported similar issues with older drivers, suggesting this might not resolve the issue.

I recommend trying different settings in the game's graphics options, such as lowering shadow detail, increasing super resolution, using anti-aliasing, and disabling certain NVIDIA-related features or filters.

It seems you're questioning whether your setup is suitable for MCC. You might want to lower the graphics settings to test performance improvements.

Turning off the steam overlay appears to resolve the issue—seems unnecessary since I don’t find much value in it, and others report it creates significant problems elsewhere.

The main problem is that the MCC Windows shipping EXE requires admin rights by default to function properly, leading to crashes and matchmaking issues in multiplayer games. Allowing this program admin access appears to resolve the problems. Previously, loading screens would display nothing or incorrect content, but now they appear correctly each time. The solution involves checking the program's properties, enabling administrator mode, and applying it for all users. Graphics drivers aren't the root cause. Reddit Post:
