You're experiencing instability with your graphics card due to the CPU's high performance. It seems the processor is overloading the GPU, causing frame drops and crashes in games like Minecraft. You're considering a different Intel Core i9 model to see if it would improve performance.

The problem seems to appear mainly when mods and additional software are active. The base version should not trigger the stuttering issue in the 9700k, even though it isn't hyperthreaded. I doubt the standard setup would cause it. Are there other applications running alongside MC, like a browser or Discord? Do closing them help? A 9900k might be a better option, but I wouldn't suggest it unless you're comfortable with the cost.

I ran a quick test and honestly don’t understand what’s happening—so here’s what I know. Usually Discord and Chrome are running, but it doesn’t seem to affect anything.

That’s not a reliable standard. It’s just marketing hype. Try using something like Heaven, Timespy, or another solid benchmark and post the outcomes.

Ensure you're not using Nvidia's GeForce Experience for streaming, as it can interfere. Simple to miss if you're not careful. Updated June 29, 2022 by An0maly_76 Additional details

You would verify the process by following the steps carefully and confirming each stage works as intended.

Open Task Manager and look for any Nvidia-related processes that shouldn't be there. I think it was named something like NVidia Shield or similar. There are default hotkeys that are too easy to press without knowing, which is why it’s a problem. @aurosan There’s a discussion about this thread—edited June 29, 2022 by An0maly_76, updated with more details.

You notice many NVIDIA containers and some support resources.

It's unlikely, though reviewing your task manager for unusual RAM or GPU activity is a solid first step.

I didn't come across anything that stood out as odd.
