I recently bought a 7900xt from AMD. I’ve been using the same setup for over ten times now, but there’s no display. I put the old GPU back in, but nothing works. I ordered a new motherboard and installed it, putting everything back as before—GPU in the main PCIe 5.0x16 slot, no display. It still didn’t work. Once the new board arrived, I replaced it and followed the same steps. The card functioned in another slot, which surprised me. After the motherboard arrived, I installed the PSU and everything was fine again. Eventually, I contacted AMD support, who suggested the 700W EVGA power supply wasn’t enough for the card. That seemed unlikely since it worked elsewhere, but I needed a stronger one anyway. I switched to an 850-watt Corsair PSU. Installation didn’t help. Neither my old GPU (3070Ti) nor the new one fit in the main slot, and with my case, running anything low on power was impossible. I’m now considering the CPU might be the issue. From what I understand, the CPU manages the main lane, while the chipset in the motherboard handles the rest. Since I’ve tried everything else, I’m left wondering if the CPU itself is faulty. Have you ever seen a PCIe controller fail in a CPU before? Even when booting with BIOS disabled, no card appears in Device Manager—like it never existed. The fans spin and lights flicker, but nothing shows up. I’ve tried booting without any drives, removed RAM, used other working GPUs, swapped the motherboard, and changed the PSU. My specs are: Z690 Steel Legend board, Intel i7-12700K, 32GB DDR4 3200, Trident Z RAM, 850W Corsair PSU, RX 7900XT, Phantom 600A case. I’m hoping to know what else could be causing this or what might have gone wrong. Thanks for your help!
