My computer is showing a black screen when I try to play games or watch videos today. It happens sometimes, but it was really bad after watching YouTube. When this happens, I can still hear the game or video playing in the background, so I have to restart the PC manually. Also, sometimes when I need to restart, I have to reinstall my AMD drivers because they seem to disappear and the computer stops recognizing my graphics card. Even though the GPU and CPU temperatures are normal, it's not an overheating issue. Here is what I have:
CPU: Ryzen 5800X
GPU: 6700 XT
RAM: 32GB
PSU: 750w

Try lowering the card's clock speed as I suggested in that thread. If that doesn't help, try an older driver instead of underclocking first. That is up to you. If neither works out, tell me what power supply unit (PSU) model and make are you using? Maybe it just isn't powerful enough now, or the part could be broken. But if the graphics card itself is failing, or maybe your video cable is damaged, things could go wrong. If you have someone nearby to lend you parts like a graphics card or video cable, try swapping those out on their computer. You can also check and run the recommended support page here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au...em...6e85d4094e

The PSU isn't working for me, but the GPU's VRAM clock stays steady at 1988 MHz while it sits idle. Is this normal?

I don't know if the clock speed depends on the Windows power plan, but maybe having it on "high performance" is what's causing the problem. If you want to change things, just switch to "balanced" and set your processor state down to 10%.

Alright, I got it fixed . I actually hate how simple it was. It was so simple that mu next GPU will definitely not be AMD. PC kept going black screen even when i connected my 2nd monitor but now it's fine. I have been playing videos on 2nd monitor and gaming on main one for an hour now and no black screen. The fix was to rollback AMD drivers to previous version.
