My video signal started to cut to black seemingly randomly the other day. Only happened a couple of times over a couple nights, but then I saw it happen as I was walking back up to my PC being afk for a brief minute. Moving the mouse resumes the video signal, though inconsistently - the video on my second monitor may or may not return from simple movement and I have to move my mouse onto that display to get it back. So I watched it idly trying to watch it and see if I could witness it happen and time it. It takes, reproducibly, exactly 60 seconds from the instant my mouse stops moving for the video to cut out. I checked my Power & Sleep settings and they are as they were: to never turn off the screen and never sleep. But it still goes black. And the weird things is it's just the video signal that cuts out because my monitor backlights stay on, so they are not really in sleep mode. The only thing I can think of is that I updated my graphics drivers recently, but I can't find a similar "sleep" setting in the Nvidia control panel. Any ideas how to get rid of this? TL;DR Both screen's video cuts to black after exactly 60 seconds of idle with backlights still on, so not in sleep mode. Power/sleep settings are set to never turn off/never sleep. Moving the mouse returns video as if in sleep mode . How to make it stop? edit: reformulated ending questions System: Windows 10 Gigabyte Z390 I Intel i7-9700K 32GB Corsair Vengeance RAM (2x16) EVGA GAMING GeForce RTX 2080 8GB 600W PSU (InWin A1 case, circa 2019)

Start DDU in safe mode and update the previous GPU driver.

I gave up on a screensaver for a long time and didn’t realize it was still there... your answer is really helpful. Why did it seem to turn back on so quickly?
