It happens during gameplay with dual RAM modules.
Recently my computer began crashing during gameplay when both RAM sticks were connected. I ran memory tests on each stick using Windows Memory Diagnostic and MemTest86. Both passed successfully, allowing gameplay with one stick installed. I’m unsure what might be causing this issue. My RAM models are listed on the board’s compatibility section, so I don’t have a clear idea of the problem. The sticks are brand new, and my system is using the default settings with the most recent BIOS update. The hardware includes a Ryzen 9 7950X, an NXT Z73 motherboard, and several high-end components such as a 4090 ROG Strix X670e, Wi-Fi 6E, and various storage drives.
The 1000W PSU seems a bit insufficient for the 4090 form factor. You might notice any warning messages during shutdown, or it could simply shut down without a signal. Review Event Viewer to look for critical or error entries before the crash. Navigate to Event Viewer → Windows Logs → Select "System" to view the details.
Event Viewer is a tool for recording system messages quietly in the background. If your graphics card failed, it will appear there. It can assist in identifying issues like GPU problems or storage errors. In my case, the problem was with a 4K display setting. It seems unrelated to your RAM. Make sure you haven’t turned on XMP or EXPO settings.
