The motherboard must be either TUF gaming x570-plus or the Asrock X570 Pro4 case should be Lian Li O11D.

They recently changed the USB standards, so newer boards get the updated names and older ones keep the old ones. USB 3.2 Gen 1 was once USB 3.0, and USB 3.2 Gen 2 was previously USB 3.1. The Asus board now has USB 3.0 (now USB 3.2 Gen 1) on the motherboard and USB 3.1 (now USB 3.2 Gen 2) on the I/O panel. The Asrock board features two USB 3.0 ports (now USB 3.2 Gen 1) on the motherboard and USB 3.1 ports (now USB 3.2 Gen 2) on the I/O panel. If your case has connectors for both motherboards but lacks a front panel USB C port, you won’t have that option.

No, USB 3.2 Gen 1 and Gen 2 use different connectors, so you can't use a single PCIe to USB 3.0 port. You'll need a compatible adapter if you want both speeds on one motherboard.

They vary from each other, based on the original photos I shared. You might find adapters like PICE cards that provide a Gen 2 internal connector.

The ASrock board with the adapter seems to be the optimal choice for ensuring all front I/O functions properly with the adapter. The USB C connection will operate only at Gen 1 speeds, not Gen 2.

The USB 3.2 Gen 1 and Gen 2 connectors differ, and they don’t link to the same internal ports on the motherboard. Some people mention an ASRock board and say the BIOS isn’t great.

USB 3.2 Gen 1, Gen 2 and Asrock boards are distinct technologies. Since you haven't used their products recently, your BIOS might not recognize them, but they remain a reputable brand.

I don't have access to your specific setup details. Could you share the model of your desktop and your thoughts on the BIOS? That way I can help you better.

Running on a more recent Asus Strix Z270h, the BIOS works well yet I prefer not to push it too high.

ASUS boards are ideal for advanced overclocking. Are there other options for PCIe to USB 3.2 Gen2? Many are priced above $50, so what alternatives exist?
