Recently I've been playing PUGB and noticed some unusual things like bright purple and white lights, purple squares filling the screen, and strange multicolor pixelation on my character. I'm wondering if this is related to my GPU or the game itself. Also, should I run a free GPU stress test like the Asus ROG version of FurMark 2? Are there safer alternatives?

It might be a damaged texture file. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game to check if it resolves the issue. Does this occur in other titles? Your PC specifications are noted. For a fair benchmark, standard textures work well; I wouldn’t rely on modified versions.

This exact problem happened on War Thunder; yet, a friend was playing with me at that moment (he used PS5) and he noticed the same issue (the tree). I thought it might just be the game acting odd. Besides, there have been strange red flashes in War Thunder when I look at a tree and quickly go up and down in thermals (my friend doesn<|pad|>, he doesn’t). Also, I’ve tried a second GPU and the red flashes on the tree remain, suggesting it could be the game or another factor.

System details: I’m running an Intel Core I7-13700f, MSI Pro B660M-a with CEAC WiFi DDR4 v2 MOBO, 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM (16GB DDR4-3600 installed), a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, an Acer Predator M.2 NVMe SSD, 240mm liquid cooling, an MSI gaming slim RTX 4070, and a 750W 80+ Gold power supply from Be Quiet.

This exact problem has happened on War Thunder; yet, a friend of mine was playing with me at that time (he used PS5) and he noticed the same issue (the tree). I thought it might just be the game acting odd. Besides, there have been unusual red flashes in War Thunder when I look at a tree and quickly go up and down in thermals (my friend doesn’t see this when he does). Also, the red flashes on the tree aren’t constant—they appear at least once a week, sometimes just a few times a day.

System specs: Intel Core I7-13700F, MSI Pro B660M-A cec Wifi DDR4 v2 MOBO, 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM, 16GB DDR4-3600 RAM (bought the wrong model but both are Teamgroup), 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, Acer Predator M.2 NVMe SSD, 240mm liquid cooling, MSI gaming slim RTX 4070 Super, and a 750W 80+ Gold PSU from Be Quiet.

I tried the issue on War Thunder with an Asus Dual RTX 4060 Ti and rolled back the Nvidia Game ready drivers from November to check if it helped, but it didn’t. I also reinserted the RAM and tested again.

Here’s a video showing the same problems (the same thing happens with trees). There are other graphical glitches in War Thunder, like the yellow blobs moving when I moved my character. Untitled video - Made with Clipchamp.mp4

I completed the Furrmark test and here are the findings: the 4060ti showed a core temperature of 63 and a hotspot at 76.

It seems the card is struggling, maybe it's facing some tough odds. Bad luck, huh?

The section indicating that is the part mentioning the normal appearance of the test, yet uncertainty beyond temperature.

So, here is an update that makes me really confused. I used the 4060ti (which is brand new I got it two days ago, and the same weird graphical glitches occurred on it as well. Additionally, now the War thunder Pseudo Crashes on both cards. The game freezes then flashes and then the frame rate tanks and then all of the textures start to spaz out (the rapidly phase in and out of existence, things start to go black like overtaken by shadows, and then the game either crashes completely or it keeps running at this weird glitchy state. So, someone please help me figure out what could be the problem. I have attached below some pictures of the (weird glitchy state) and a GPU-Z log screenshot that I took during the game's freak out. Again these crashes and weird shadow glitches happened with the 4070 super and the brand new 4060ti. So I am at a loss for what's wrong. I also tried reinstalling the game and it still happened again on the 4060ti.

Another update, I encountered a Blue Screen of Death while using the 4060ti. After performing a factory reset, I still don’t understand what’s going wrong.

Did you apply the microcode fixes to protect this chip? It's possible that your CPU or mobo has been toasted by Intel's hubris
