I new PC is working fine for about three weeks, until then it started acting up often. The issue seems linked to explorer.exe – the error message says it can't communicate with Windows anymore (version 10.0.22621.3733). The process ID is 1002. The crashes happen at different times: sometimes after an hour of use or when the system is running for about six hours. I freeze during tasks like changing apps, but I can still move the mouse and hear audio. In Discord calls I can still see others and be heard. When playing games like Valorant, I can hear the sound and talk. Anyone know how to fix this? If you need more details, tell me.

I would execute SFC, DISM, and CHKDSK to resolve potential file issues.

I attempted this and it still crashed, oddly enough without any errors in explorer.exe. I’m seeing other issues but those don’t seem to be the main problem. When it freezes, I get these specific errors: Device Setup Manager Metadata staging failed result=0x80070490, Event ID 131, about eight errors each time I start my PC, though they appear randomly and aren’t present during freezes. I’m not sure what to do and would really appreciate some guidance.
