This problem began yesterday. Initially I thought it was just Red Dead 2, but later realized it affects newer titles like Watch Dogs 2 and Red Dead 2 as well. When I try to close them, my computer freezes and the hard drive appears to spin. I tested an older game such as Mafia 2 and it doesn’t have this issue. I’ve tried keyboard shortcuts like alt+tab and alt f4, but nothing works. I’m forced to shut down completely. The only solution I have is pressing alt+enter and exiting via the windowed mode. Please help—I’ve asked on Reddit, but no one seems to respond.
It depends on what you're experiencing. If everything works fine, you might not need to reinstall. But if there are issues, a fresh install could help.
