Consider what steps would help you best. What you should do depends on your goals and the situation.

I went and grabbed a multimeter and checked if all the little leads on the ethernet tip had continuity with one another (having both ends of the cable on my hand), if however you can't do that, you should try a new cable since there's no other way of knowing. I did the multimeter thing as a home made test to see if all of the 8 wires were actually making contact.

choose the right cables carefully since wires go through walls to ports and another is connected to your PC with a hole.

Gigabit requires perfect connections because it demands the highest possible data transfer speed from these cables.

That's more involved, I used an external cable for that. However, to rule out your computer's network card issues, I'd attempt to connect the PC straight to the router and check if it has a gigabit connection. If not, the internal cable might be faulty or the connectors mismatched.

When connecting directly to the router doesn't provide gigabit speed, it suggests an issue with the network card or outdated drivers.

Verify your end equipment settings, ensuring both are configured at 1Gbps full duplex. Occasionally, if one side is set to 1Gbps while the other uses auto, the connection might drop to 100Mbps or trigger errors. It’s best to enable auto for both sides, as this will establish the correct link speed.
