You have an MSI B550 Tomahawk motherboard and just bought a second 1TB 970 EVO Plus SSD. I attempted to use the disc management tool to format the second M.2, but it wasn’t found there. Only your original boot drive is visible.

The setting should function properly. No bios options block it, and it may operate at reduced performance. You can verify it in the Disk drives section of Device Manager.

Manager only displays the primary C partition, while the Disk Management tool shows just the boot drive. The BIOS lists two 1TB SSDs, possibly indicating a mismatch. Updating the BIOS might help. If you have any remaining hair, I’ll pull it out.
