Initially, you might wonder why you'd enable Post FX on your PC. The gap between Normal and High settings is just a few frames—typically 1-2 fps. Raising it to High reduces performance by that amount, but the visual improvement, especially in RPGs, makes it worthwhile. For me, it's a 2013 title, so I stick to Normal for smoother driving on all grass. If you want better textures, just increase it further, though it will cost some frames. The fog isn't always active, and weather changes dynamically during gameplay. GTA 5 looks great at certain times of day; lowering the settings helps. Distance scaling is another factor—extended distance can drop performance by about 6 fps in normal mode. I usually set it to 10-20% for balance. Textures may pop occasionally, but it's manageable. I've adjusted distance scaling to around 30% to reduce some issues, yet kept it at 10-20% because it significantly impacts FPS. The jump from 100% to 0% is roughly 19 fps, and even more in 4K resolution.
Thanks in advance for your help! I’ll skip the extended distance scaling. My grass is already off since I want more FPS, especially with my 144Hz monitor. I didn’t know much about the post FX, but I disliked the motion blur, so I’m choosing to turn it off. I’ll give it a try anyway! Appreciate the reply.
