Hi everyone, a friend of mine has been experiencing problems with his Zotac 3070 TI, especially during games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2. His DX9-DX10 performance was fine before, but now it’s failing in those titles. I’ve temporarily moved his graphics card to my system to check if the issue can be reproduced, but it hasn’t happened yet. He’s currently using my ROG STRIX 2080TI and hasn’t had any problems since. I also swapped his card into my machine to see if that triggers the crash. So far, the steps most tech-savvy people would take are: tested all components with PC Doctor, updated BIOS, reinstalled drivers, disabled XMP settings, used two separate PCIe rails on the GPU, tried a 144Hz monitor, and switched to his 2080TI without any crashes. He mentioned that with the 3070TI in his setup, the games would crash after about 15-30 minutes. With the 2080TI it’s still running smoothly. I’ve also done a fresh install of Windows 10 and updated all drivers. I’m considering trying another graphics card to see if the problem persists. Any suggestions or insights? If changing cards solves it, what could be causing instability with the Alder Lake architecture? I’ve also tested with a different model (Heaven) and it worked well. Furmark might be a better option next time. Let’s discuss further!

Did you turn off XMP using a CMOS reset? Otherwise, a CMOS reset might be needed. Also, what does “holo” refer to in this context? Updated January 5, 2023 by Bombastinator

Holo is simply a component within the Zotac GPU branding.
